Your destiny

La Oliva gives you the welcome to Casa Montelongo.

La Oliva, a village of tradition and culture, a historic reference of the island of Fuerteventura, invites you to get to know it. It invites you to taste a treasure of time and space, a corner with a fascinating history, a special place.

Casa Montelongo was the home of the Montelongo family, a bourgeois and enlightened lineage with a deep social and cultural vocation.

Thanks to the slack of an economy based on cochineal, orchil, and barilla stone, they had plenty of time and resources which they invested in the development of the town.

Bringing it to life.
Giving it character.

The sculpture at Casa Montelongo is a visual ode to the island's rich natural heritage. The work stands as a tribute to cochineal, orchil, and barilla stone, fundamental elements in the production of traditional pigments. The abstract shapes evoke lichen, prickly pear, and the leaf of the agave, anchoring the sculpture in the very essence of the local environment. The dynamic interaction between sunlight and the intricate forms of the piece creates a play of shadows on the wall.

Established visual artist based in Madrid.

Works at the intersection of architecture, space, and movement. Combines photography and video in a single authorial perspective, attentive to the dialogue between presence and the inhabited place. He does not seek to document spaces; he reads them through time, light, and containment. His journey has taken him through Vancouver, Florida, Berlin, Barcelona, and the Canary Islands, and today he is based in Madrid. He is attracted to what a place does not show at first glance, what appears when attention expands and time slows down.
